Postcards From The Coast (2017)
“Postcards” are original watercolor paintings inspired by Lisa Miller’s summer 2017 journey discovering and celebrating the Pacific Coast. Read more about her road trip here, where she traveled by SUV with a mobile studio from Santa Barbara, CA all the way north to Newport, Oregon. Each painting was made on location and is painted on 4x6 watercolor “postcard” paper, suitable for framing or actually mailing. In these paintings, Miller invites us to slow down and share her journey, taking time to explore the natural world where the land meets the sea, the colors and textures, the light and smells, from the tiniest details to wide expansive vistas. Each painting is an ‘abstract snapshot’ that captures both the exterior elements of the outer world along with the interior experience of taking it all in, and conveys a true sense of place.
