“Inner Sight”

In this painting I’m interested in the transformative power of art, and I created it with an intentional curiosity and focus on the intuitive and deeply spiritual aspects of my painting practice. In this I’m moving deeper into exploring the function of artist as a channel or medium, where the painting becomes a portal to all levels of consciousness for both the creator (artist) and receiver (viewer/collector). Carl Jung said “Until you make the unconscious conscious, it will direct your life and you will call it fate.” This painting gives attention and form to that process of personal individuation, where we bring all levels of the self and our conscousness into the light and into harmony. This is duplicated literally on the picture plane - the canvas. ‘Laying everything out on the table’, so to speak. This beginning a dialogue between all the aspects on the the physical level, which creates a feeling of wholeness within. We can then have freedom of attention and employ graceful movement and choice to connect to and be guided by an inner truth, all now from a new center of the self in relation to the greater world. Underlying this experience is a sense of serendipity and feeling of being supported and directed by a force of good in the universe as we now are free to co-create our lives in service to uniting our inherent potential with divine purpose.
